Brand. Art. Sandwiches.

In July we were invited by Arts&Business to host a discussion for arts individuals and organisations which would explore and generate ideas in order to maximise profile and awareness.

So, tomorrow I’ll be holding our first ever brand talk, although we’d rather refer to it as a conversation or open discussion.

Working within the arts & culture sector we encounter regular challenges with funding, budgets and politics when organisations commission design. We’re taking this as an opportunity to discuss better ways of commissioning design, writing a brief and working with a design studio from day one.

Other topics on the agenda are how to make your brand image stick, managing your brand for maximum impact and improving your offer / experience through better design.

Sunborn London

We’re delighted to announce that we’re due to start work on the brand materials for a new floating yacht hotel in London. This follows the rebrand of the Sunborn Group and another yacht hotel in Barcelona (pictured), which is due to open in the spring of 2012, the Sunborn Barcelona will be located at the new Port Fòrum Marina.

SB have worked on a full brand guidelines, stationery, wayfinding, livery and signage for the vessel. We are also in the process of building the website which is also due to launch in the coming weeks.

Throughout the vessel every detail in the design, choice of material or finish, has been carefully selected to add to the feeling of quality and exclusivity. There are also a wide variety of facilities including a large sun deck with pool, an exclusive lobby area and bar, fine dining restaurant, a day spa and fitness centre, meeting and conference facilities.

NoFit State Circus

Earlier this week SB were appointed to redevelop the NoFit State Circus brand following a competitive pitch process.

NoFitState was founded in 1986 by five friends who put together a street circus show for Live Aid. They had so much fun that they decided to set up a circus company. Today, NoFit State is the UK’s leading, large-scale contemporary circus company.

It was the underlying personality and passion which first attracted us to the project — a group of people bonded and united in an imaginary world, sharing a dream with everyone pulling together to make it happen.

First stages will see SB host a series of brand workshops. More to follow soon.

We started out as one, merged as two then earlier this year made it three, and now it’s four. Our ambition  has always been to stay small — that’s the way we like it.

To celebrate our second birthday and to sing in the festive period, we thought what better way than to throw a small party for the people we like? We’ll play some music, swig some beers, glug some wine — there’s even been talk of nibbles. What kind of music? We’re going to leave that to our friends at Bold St. Coffee, they seem to know their stuff. And the grub? They’ll sort that too…

So what are we doing? Anything special? Yes! We are curating a small exhibition of work from friends, clients and collaborators from all over the world and sold in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

We still have a handful of invites spare so if you fancy popping along then please drop us a line and we’ll pop an ‘official’ invite in the post.

Cow&Co — Superstore Magnifique

Today we launched the refreshed Cow&Co online shop, one year after it’s launch. Over the past year the shop has gone from strength to strength – more products, more designers, more opportunities and now we’re working on a series of pop-up shops across the UK. SB are working on all brand material including packaging, retail, exhibition and a mobile version of the site in January.
